With a few plants, you might remember who got fertiliser when. Once you have 10–20 pots, forget it. Some will be overfed, some forgotten completely. Plants don’t scream when they’re hungry; they just slowly look weaker.
A tiny notebook, or even notes in your phone, where you jot down “Money plant – fertilised 5 March” or “Rose – fed 20 April” keeps things clear. When you look back, you know who is due and who needs a break.
It also helps you notice patterns. If a plant always reacts badly after feeding, maybe it needs a lighter dose or a different product. Instead of guessing, you’re watching real data from your own balcony.
