High-traffic areas—corridors, near switches, around dining tables, kids’ rooms—collect scuffs, fingerprints and small dents. Over time, these marks build up and make the wall look tired.
If you keep a bit of leftover paint properly sealed and labelled, you can occasionally do tiny touch-ups: cover a chip here, fix a scratch there. You don’t have to repaint the whole wall every time something happens.
Without that stored paint, you either live with the marks or buy a new tin and hope it matches. A small jar saved from the original job makes maintenance smoother and cheaper.
